Kiefer Sutherland to star in The Fugitive TV series
The show will feature on upcoming mobile streaming service Quibi.
Kiefer Sutherland is to star in the TV adaptation of 90s thriller The Fugitive.
He’ll play top detective Clay Bryce who’s been tasked with apprehending Mike Ferro (Narcos’s Boyd Holbrook), the prime suspect in a bombing on the L.A subway.
Ferro is actually just an innocent passenger however with “Tweet now, confirm later” journalism having incorrectly identified him as the man responsible.
Sutherland’s part was originally played by Tommy Lee Jones while Holbrook is stepping into Harrison Ford’s role.
Stephen Hopkins, who previously worked with Sutherland on several episodes of 24’s first season back in 2001, will direct all of the episodes.
Prison Break’s Nick Santora is to write the script and serve as executive producer.
Production is due to begin on The Fugitive sometime this October.
The series is just one of several commissioned for upcoming mobile streaming service Quibi which is due to launch in Spring 2020.
Other’s include a horror series from Stephen King viewers can only enjoy at night and Survive starring Game of Thrones’s Sophie Turner and Corey Hawkins.
