Killing Eve to end after season 4
The final batch of eight episodes will arrive in 2022.
Hit spy thriller Killing Eve will end after its upcoming fourth season.
The show was officially renewed back in January 2020 for another eight episodes but the start of production was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Filming is now set to begin early this summer in both the UK and several locations in Europe for a release date of sometime in 2022.
Sex Education’s Laura Neal will replace Suzanne Heathcote as the writer for this season following on from Academy-Award nominated director Emerald Fennell and Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Based on Luke Jennings Codename Villanelle novels, Killing Eve follows the cat and mouse game between MI6 agent Eve (Sandra Oh) and psychopathic assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer).
They’ve received critical acclaim for their performances having both won a BAFTA for Best Leading Actress in 2019 along with a Golden Globe and an Emmy respectively.
While nothing has been officially confirmed, AMC Networks and the show’s production company Sid Gentle Films Ltd are working on developing ideas for a spinoff series.
“Killing Eve has been one of my greatest experiences and I look forward to diving back into Eve’s remarkable mind soon,” said Oh.
“I’m so grateful for all the cast and crew who have brought our story to life and to the fans who have joined us and will be back for our exciting and unpredictable final season.”
