Legion to end with season 3
The X-Men spinoff will finish later this year.
X-Men spinoff Legion will end with its upcoming 3rd season.
The series, which stars Dan Stevens, follows a man who finds out he’s a mutant with psychological powers.
In the X-Men comics, this character is the father of Professor X, though this series has distanced itself from the X-Men movies.
Season 2 ended in a rather controversial way (which we won’t spoil here), though that’s unlikely to be the reason the series as a whole is ending so soon.
Legion is helmed by Noah Hawley, who was the showrunner on the Fargo TV series, who may well have originally planned the show to run for 3 seasons.
CEO of FX, John Landgraf, has confirmed this in a recently press tour, saying that it was pitched as a 3-season show.
This is will be the latest entry for the X-Men universe in 2019, going alongside the films Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants in 2019.
Legion season 3 is set to air in June of this year, with UK viewers able to catch it on NOW TV Entertainment when it lands.
