Love Life finds new lead for season 2
Anna Kendrick's Darby will still appear in a smaller role.
The Good Place star William Jackson Harper will replace Anna Kendrick as the lead for Love Life season 2.
Set in New York City, the rom-com anthology series centres around a different character every season in their quest for love.
It will pick up with Harper’s character as he finds himself back on the dating scene after a years-long relationship with a woman he thought was his soulmate suddenly ends.
Kendrick’s character Darby is still set to appear occasionally and the Pitch Perfect actress will stay on as an executive producer alongside Bridesmaids director Paul Feig.
Creator Sam Boyd, who is also co-showrunner with Bridget Bedard, has said there will also be other connections between the two seasons.
"It's important to us that it feels like it takes place in this extended universe," he said.
"We have a fun way we can keep Darby floating in and out through this world. It's more of a baton pass to this new protagonist."
Season one also starred Zoë Chao, Sasha Compère, Peter Vack, Jin Ha, Hope Davis and Nick Thune. It’s not clear if any of them will reprise their roles for this upcoming second season.
Love Life was developed as an original series for US-only streaming service HBO Max but UK viewers can stream the entire first season on BBC iPlayer now.
