Lucifer season 5 to have musical episode
The first part of the season will be released sometime later this year.
The upcoming fifth and final season of Lucifer will have a musical episode, its showrunners Ily Modrovich and Joe Henderson have confirmed.
Titled Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam, it’ll be the series tenth episode and contain “multiple musical numbers.”
Specific story details currently aren’t available so it’s not yet clear how the characters will find themselves in a position to sing.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Modrovich explained why it’s taken so long for them to develop one.
“We wanted to have a real grounded story reason why they’re singing and dancing, and not just, Oh, this is going to be the one where everybody sings and dance,” she said.
“It’s been a little game of Tetris [planning the episode] but it’s super fun. It’s going to be amazing. It’s going to be just such a bucket list thing for me.”
24 star Dennis Haybert is set to join the cast as God while Tricia Helfer will return as Lucifer’s mum.
Lucifer’s fifth season will be split into parts with eight episodes in each. No specific release date is set for the first other than 2020.
You can stream the first four seasons of Lucifer on Netflix now.
