Mindhunter season 2 could premiere in August
Executive producer Charlize Theron gave the date during a recent radio interview.
A possible release date for the second season of Mindhunter has been revealed by one of the show’s executive producers, actress Charlize Theron.
"Season 2 is coming out in August," said the Academy-Award winner speaking on Sirius XFM's Howard Stern Show. "Yeah, can't wait. Deep, dark... it's wonderful."
Netflix has yet to officially confirm the news however.
Based on a book by one of the very first FBI profilers John Douglas, Mindhunter stars Jonathon Groff and Holt McCallany as two fictional agents who interview various imprisoned serial killers in an effort to understand how they think and then apply that knowledge to ongoing cases.
It was created by The Road writer Joe Penhall with Theron and Zodiac director David Fincher onboard as executive producers.
A short video posted to the show's Twitter account in November 2017 stated that a second season was in development but there's still no sign of a trailer.
Fincher, who also directed four of the ten episodes, stated in an interview with Billboard that season two will be set two years after the first and revolve around the Atlanta Child Murders of 1979 to 1981.
You can stream all ten episodes of Mindhunter on Netflix now.
