New Amazon drama Solos confirms cast
The anthology series will examine the "deeper meaning of the human connection" from different perspectives.
An all-star cast has been announced for Amazon Prime’s upcoming original series Solos.
Academy-Award winners Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway and Helen Mirren will be joined by Marvel's Anthony Mackie, Uzo Aduba, Miss Juneteenth’s Nicole Beharie, Dan Stevens and Constance Wu.
Described as a “dramatic and thought-provoking seven-part anthology series” by Deadline, Solos will “explore the deeper meaning of human connection, as explored through the lens of the individual”
It “will tell unique character-driven stories, each from a different perspective and moment in time" according to its official plot description.
Solos, which was originally commissioned for a full series in October 2020, was created by David Weil who’s also responsible for Amazon Prime's Nazi drama Hunters starring Al Pacino.
Weil will make his directorial debut with two of these seven episodes alongside Fifty Shades of Grey’s Sam Taylor-Johnson, Zach Braff and Tiffany Johnson.
“I am beyond thrilled to be bringing Solos to life alongside this group of artists who I so deeply admire. I created this piece with a desire to capture stories about connection, hope and the search for that common hum of humanity that binds us all,” said Weil.
