Netflix debuts first trailer for Bridgerton
All episodes will arrive on Christmas Day.

Netflix has released the first trailer for Shonda Rhimes’s upcoming period drama Bridgerton.
The show will serve as an adaptation of Julia’s Quinn’s best-selling series of romance novels which follow the titular family across high society in Regency-era London.
The clip suggests that it will fall somewhere between Downton Abbey and iconic teen drama Gossip Girl as we follow the eldest daughter and popular socialite Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) in her attempts to find a husband.
She fends off a number of unappealing suitors before finally catching the eye of the dashingly handsome and rebellious Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) at a ball.
Overseeing all of this is Julie Andrews’s omniscient narrator Lady Whistledown who delights in exploring the scandalous activities of the higher classes in her gossip column.
Doctor Who’s Andjoa Andon, Ben Miller, Jonathan Bailey, Derry Girls’ Nicola Coughlan, Golda Rosheuvel and Luke Newton will also star.
The show is the first project to emerge from Rhimes’ multi-million-dollar deal with the streaming giant which was signed in 2017.
You can stream all eight episodes of Bridgerton from 25th December on Netflix.
