Netflix orders sequel to Murder Mystery
Both he and Jennifer Anniston are expected to reprise their roles.
Netflix is developing a sequel to its 2018 comedy film Murder Mystery.
While nothing’s been confirmed, stars Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston are both expected to return.
James Vanderbilt, who credits range from White House Down to David Fincher’s gritty crime-drama Zodiac, is currently in negotiations to again write the script.
Directed by Kyle Newacheck, the original revolved around a bickering married couple (Sandler and Anniston) who accidentally become embroiled in a murder plot while on holiday.
Netflix don’t normally release their viewership numbers but did announce that over 30 millions US households had watched the film in the first 72 hours.
This makes it the most successful of the projects like The Ridiculous Six and Sandy Wexler that have emerged out of Sandler’s multi-million-pound deal with Netflix
In comparison to these other films, Murder Mystery didn’t do too bad with critics either currently sitting at 45% on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.
As to be expected with a project that's in such early stages, an official release date has yet to be confirmed.
You can stream the first Murder Mystery on Netflix now.
