Lucifer renewed for a sixth and final season at Netflix

Fans will be treated to another batch of episodes.

Fantasy crime-drama Lucifer will return for a sixth and final season, Netflix has confirmed.

The upcoming fifth season, the first half of which will hit Netflix on 21st August, was originally announced as being its last.

Rumours of another season had been circulating for a while however, with there being speculation that the negotiations between star Tom Ellis and Warner Bros Television had run into complications.

Lucifer stars Ellis as the titular prince of hell who decides to leave his kingdom for Los Angeles where he becomes a consultant for the LAPD and romantically entangled with detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German).

D.B Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris and Amy Garcia round out the rest of the main cast.

The show originally ran for three seasons on US network Fox before being in 2018 cancelled due to low ratings.

Following an extensive fan campaign, Netflix picked up the show for a fourth season which consisted of another ten episodes and later renewed it for a fifth.

You can stream the first three seasons of Lucifer on Amazon Prime and the fourth via Netflix.
