New details emerge about Dirty John season 2
This new series will focus on the 1989 case of Betty Broderick.
New details have emerged about the upcoming second season of Dirty John.
After previously exploring the incredible true story of conman John Meehan (Eric Bana), the show is set to become an anthology series examining a different criminal case each time.
A press release from the USA Network revealed that this second series will revolve around the case of Betty Broderick, a former housewife who was convicted of murdering her ex-husband Dan and his new wife Linda back in 1991.
Brockmire’s Amanda Peet and Christian Slater will star as Betty and Dan respectively while casting for Linda has yet to be announced.
This season will once again be written by creator Alexandra Cunnigham who will also serve as the main showrunner.
Directing duties will be shared amongst a team which includes Maggie Kiley, who will helm four episodes, Kat Candler, Meera Menon, Shannon Kohli and Cunningham
The public was divided on the Broderick case when it initially went to trial, with some seeing her as a cold-blooded killer and others expressing sympathy for a woman who’d supported her family while her husband went through law school, only to have him leave her for someone much younger.
The show is currently filming but a release date has yet to be announced.
