New Lindsay Lohan comedy to air on Sky 1

A new all-star comedy series is headed to Sky.

A new comedy series starring Lindsay Lohan is due to air on Sky 1 in the autumn.

Sick Note stars the Mean Girls actress alongside Rupert Grint (Harry Potter) and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz).

The show follows Daniel Grass (Grint) as a compulsive liar who is wrongly diagnosed with a terminal illness and works with his incompetent doctor (Frost) to cover up the misdiagnosis.

The series is part of Sky's new post-watershed comedy projects, which aim to bring edgier, grown-up content to viewers.

Sick Note will air on the 10pm slot on Sky 1 and will also be available on NOW TV.

Other shows in the autumn lineup include Bliss, a comedy from Emmy award-winning director David Cross and Bounty Hunters, a new action-comedy from Jack Whitehall.

The series is a product of British production company King Bert, which was founded by producer Jo Sargent and comedy performers David Walliams and Miranda Hart.

The project is being directed by BAFTA award-winning director Matt Lipsey, who previously helmed comedy series Little Britain and Psychoville.

Sky's Head of Comedy Jon Mountague said he was looking forward to seeing what viewers make of Sick Note.

“One lie leads to the next in this unsettlingly brilliant comedy that will hook viewers in and have them on the very edge of their seats. Filming for series two is already under way and we're delighted to confirm Lindsay Lohan will be joining Rupert and Nick in this stellar comedy cast.

The second series is filming right now and brings in Lindsay Lohan as the daughter of the main character's boss.

You can watch the first series when it airs on Sky 1 and NOW TV in the autumn.
