New trailer for Veronica Mars season 4

It was originally cancelled in 2007 before Hulu announced a new series last year.

Streaming site Hulu has released the first official full-length trailer for its upcoming Veronica Mars revival.

This eight-episode fourth season will pick up five years after the crowdfunded film took place as the titular PI (Kristen Bell) returns to her hometown of Neptune, California.

The new two minute clip shows Veronica and her Dad (Enrico Colantoni) once again being drawn into Neptune's seedy underbelly as they investigate a series of devastating hotel bombings during spring-break.

Plenty of the series’s trademark cynical humour is on display and fans are treated to a glimpse of Veronica’s ex-boyfriend Logan (Jason Dohring) alongside Academy-Award winner JK Simmons’s new character, shady fixer Clyde.

Also confirmed to return are Percy Daggs III as Veronica’s best friend Wallace, Francis Capra as reformed gang member Weevil and David Starzyk as real estate developer Dick Casablancas.

Veronica Mars originally ran for three seasons between 2004 and 2007 before it was cancelled due to low ratings.

A feature-length film was released in 2014 funded by a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign that creator Rob Thomas and Bell launched in 2013.

All of Veronica Mars season 4 will drop on US-only streaming site Hulu on July 26th but it's yet to be announced how and when it’ll arrive in the UK.
