NOW TV helps Walking Dead viewers catch up with John Cleese

NOW TV has released a catch-up video to get Walking Dead fans ready for the upcoming start of season 7.

In the video, comedy legend John Cleese goes through everything that's happened in the series so far, from the start of season 1 all the way up to season 6's much talked about cliffhanger.

The catch up is done in typical John Cleese fashion, with series protagonist Rick Grimes described as “essentially Clint Eastwood, but a bit more sensitive.”

Cleese covers over 70 hours of the show in just four minutes, making it ideal for those who want a quick catch-up before season 7 begins.

Cleese said that he was a huge fan of The Walking Dead and was excited to help fans reacquaint themselves with the series.

“I can't get enough of The Walking Dead. The beautiful scenery, the emotional depths of the characters, and most of all, the gentle sprinkling of horrific barbarism. Hopefully fans will think the video is dead funny, and if not, I might just have to introduce them to Lucille personally.”

Season 6 ended with Rick Grimes and crew at the mercy of the deranged Negan, with the new villain killing an unknown member of the group with his named baseball bat.

Fans have spent the months in between seasons speculating who the mystery death could be, with hints being dropped by the show's cast and writers.

Season 7 starts on the 24th of October, 9pm on FOX, with NOW TV customers able to watch live and on-demand via the Entertainment Pass.

Entertainment Pass owners can also catch up with all 6 seasons of The Walking Dead, though this will take significantly longer than 4 minutes.
