Olivia Colman in talks to join Marvel's Secret Invasion series
Samuel L. Jackson, Captain Marvel's Ben Mendelsohn and Kingsley Ben-Adir have already been cast.
Olivia Colman is currently in talks to join Marvel’s upcoming Disney+’s series Secret Invasion, Variety is reporting.
It’s not yet clear who the Academy-Award winner would play but she’d be joining Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, who are set to reprise their MCU roles as Nick Fury and Captain Marvel’s Talos respectively.
Kingsley Ben-Adir, known for his roles in The OA and Peaky Blinders, is also set to join the cast as the series main villain.
Plot details are also being kept tightly under wraps but we do know that the series will take place following the events of both Captain Marvel and Spiderman: Far From Home.
The Marvel comic book storyline it will be based on sees an evil alien race known as The Skrulls secretly replacing earth’s superheroes with perfect copies they can control.
Captain Marvel however, flipped the switch and introduced The Skrulls as the good guys so it likely won’t follow this exactly.
Disney+’s has seen great success with their slate of exclusive Marvel series. Both WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier have received acclaim from critics and fans alike.
Its next MCU series Loki, which sees Tom Hiddleston reprise his role as Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) trickster brother, will premiere on 11th June 2021.
