Olivia Colman to star in new Sky series
She'll play convicted British killer Susan Edwards.
Sky has cast British TV favourite Olivia Colman in its upcoming crime-drama Landscapers.
The original limited series will explore the real-life case of Susan and Christopher Edwards, a seemingly normal British couple who were convicted of murdering her parents in 2013.
Alexander Payne, who previously helmed the 2014 Academy-Award winning drama The Descendants, will direct all four episodes.
The broadcaster has described the series as a “blackly comic, narratively playful true crime drama” which is based on extensive research into the case, including in-depth interviews with both killers.
Ed Sinclair is to write the script with Sister, the company behind this year’s hauntingly brilliant Chernobyl, set to produce.
“The truth is it’s quite rare to be desperate to play a part on the first reading of a script, but that was the case here. The writing is brave, but subtle and tender too – a joy for any actor,” said Colman when speaking to the Radio Times.
Landscapers will begin filming sometime in 2020 and will air on both Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
A release date for Landscapers has yet to be announced.
