Once Upon a Time in Hollywood spinoff series planned

Quentin Tarantino is turning Bounty Law into a real show.

Quentin Tarantino has announced he’s bringing to life the fictional Bounty Law TV series featured within Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

The 1950s Western-style limited series will focus on bounty collector Jake Cahill, a character originally played by Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton in the 2019 film.

Speaking to Deadline, the award-winning director confirmed that he’s already written the five episodes and plans to direct them all.

“This is not about Rick Dalton played Jake Cahill. It’s about Jake Cahill,” he went on to say, which suggests that DiCaprio is unlikely to reprise his role.

"It got an introduction from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, but I don't really consider it part of that movie even though it is.”

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood follows DiCaprio’s fading TV star Rick Dalton and his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) in the year 1969, considered to be the end of the famous city’s Golden Age.

It’s received ten nominations at this year’s Academy Awards including Best Actor for DiCaprio, Best Supporting Actor for Pitt, Best Picture and Best Director for Tarantino.

No official release date has been set for Bounty Law but Tarantino has said it’ll take him “a year and a half” to develop.
