Tatiana Maslany to star in Disney+'s She-Hulk series
The Hulk's cousin has the same powers but can control when she transforms.
Tatiana Maslany will star in Disney+’s upcoming She-Hulk series, Deadline has announced.
The actress is best known for starring in the acclaimed sci-fi series Orphan Black, which ran for 5 seasons between 2013 and 2017, where she played several different characters who were all clones.
She-Hulk aka Jennifer Walters, the last major character to be created by Stan Lee, gains her abilities after receiving an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner.
Unlike Banner however, she has significantly more control over her powers being able to transform at will and managing to retain a successful career as a lawyer.
It was also recently announced that Kat Coiro, who’s previously worked on Netflix’s Dead to Me and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, will direct several episodes including the pilot.
Rick and Morty’s Jessica Gao, who’s responsible for the cult animated comedy’s famous Pickle Rick episode, will serve as head writer on the project.
She-Hulk is just one of several exclusive Marvel projects which are in development at Disney+.
The first of these, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, was supposed to premiere in August but has been delayed due to COVID-19. WandaVision however, is still set to debut in December.
She-Hulk is expected to arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
