Peter Pan sequel series a go at Syfy
The live-action series brings Peter Pan and the Darling siblings back together ten years later.
A sequel series to Disney’s Peter Pan is in development at Syfy.
Set ten years after the events of the animated film, it will follow a grown-up Wendy and The Lost Boys as they reunite to face a new enemy who threatens to destroy Neverland.
“The fantastical series explores the painful truths of growing up and the realization that going home is never quite as simple as you think," the official plot description reads.
Writer/producer Brian McCauley Johnson, who’s been trying to get a version off the ground since 2012, will oversee the project.
As to be expected from something in such early stages, a cast or official release date has yet to be announced.
"Syfy is developing an original take on the classic setting the series in uncharted lands, making for new adventures and showcasing these characters like you’ve never seen them before." said Bill McGoldrick, Original Content President of NBC Universal Entertainment Networks.
There have been many adaptations of Peter Pan over the years, including Stephen Spielberg’s much-loved Hook starring Robin Williams and Joe Wright’s critically-panned 2015 effort Pan.
