Prodigal Son cancelled after two seasons
It's not currently known whether the show will be shopped elsewhere.
Procedural drama Prodigal Son won't return for a third season, US network Fox has confirmed.
An inside source said that although the decision was a difficult one for the broadcaster, they felt that the show’s ratings weren’t high enough to justify another season.
Created by Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver, the show stars Tom Payne as talented criminal profiler Malcolm Bright.
His exceptional skill at getting inside the minds of dangerous people stems from him being the son of a prolific serial killer known as The Surgeon (Martin Sheen).
Lou Diamond Phillips, Halston Sage, Aurora Perrineau, Frank Harts, Keiko Agena, Bellamy Young and Catherine Zeta-Jones round out the rest of the main cast.
Fedak and Sklaver also served as joint showrunners and executive producers alongside Sarah Schechter and the Arrowverse’s Greg Berlanti.
Season 2 of Prodigal Son will premiere here in the UK on 9th June at 9:00pm on Sky One.
The entire first season is available to stream with the NOW Entertainment pass.
