Quatermass reboot movie planned
The famous scientist is set for a return to screens.
A new movie based on the Quatermass films is being planned.
Quatermass was a British TV series created by Nigel Kneale and featured the titular Professor Bernard Quatermass as he investigated spooky science phenomena.
The TV serials were made into feature films in the ‘60s by Hammer Horror, the world-famous horror studio.
Legendary Pictures is teaming up with Hammer to create a new version.
This new film will be written by David Farr, who has previously helmed action thriller Hanna.
Farr was also the writer of spy mini-series The Night Manager, which starred Tom Hiddleston.
Whilst no director has yet been signed for the project, the prestige of the property means it’ll no doubt attract someone with clout.
The Quatermass stories have been brought up as inspiration for a whole host of directors, including John Carpenter, Ridley Scott and Stanley Kubrick.
You can watch the first 2 film adaptations - The Quatermass Xperiment and Quatermass II - on Amazon Prime Video now.
