Queen and Slim's Jodie Turner-Smith to star in Witcher prequel
She'll play a warrior elf named Éile.

Queen and Slim’s Jodie Turner-Smith will star in The Witcher prequel series Blood Origin.
First announced in July last year, it’ll be set 1,200 years before the events of the main show and explore the creation of the very first Witcher and Conjunction of the Spheres.
The latter is a pivotal event in the lore of both the show and the books it’s based on, which saw the world’s of monsters, men and elves join to become one.
Turner-Smith will play the elf Éile “an elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess who has left her clan and position as Queen’s guardian to follow her heart as a nomadic musician.”
“A grand reckoning on the continent forces her to return to the way of the blade in her quest for vengeance and redemption,” according to Netflix’s official character description.
Declan De Barra, who acted as a writer on the original show, will serve as showrunner for Blood Origin while its creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will be one of the executive producers.
The Witcher: Blood Origin is one of two Witcher projects which are currently in development at Netflix. Nightmare of the Wolf is an animated film focusing on the origin story of Geralt’s (Henry Cavill) mentor and fellow Witcher Vesemir.
