Ryan Reynolds joins Netflix action-thriller Red Notice
Reynolds to star alongside Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot.
Press for the much discussed action-thriller, rumoured to have a US$130 million budget, has picked up steam once again as Ryan Reynolds has been confirmed as another A-list cast member.
Universal and Netflix came head-to-head in a sizable bidding war for the film’s production rights last February, and Universal came out on top after acquiring Dwayne Johnson and Rawson Marshall Thurber (Skyscraper, We’re The Millers) as its writer and director.
However, Netflix confirmed via a Deadline exclusive that it would be producing the sizable production instead.
Touted as a ‘globe-trotting action heist thriller’, the synopsis is centred around an international pursuit of the world’s most wanted art thief. Johnson has been confirmed to star as an Interpol agent, but Netflix have yet to confirm Gadot and Reynold’s roles.
Release was originally advertised as 13 November 2020 by Universal, but Netflix have yet to confirm their own release date.
