Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are set to develop an adaptation of a famous true crime book.
The Devil In The White City: Murder, Magic and Madness at the Fair That Changed America is a book by Erik Larson about the serial killer Dr. H. H. Holmes who built the infamous “Murder Castle” at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.
The rights for the novel have been around for a long time, with Tom Cruise first getting them way back in 2003.
Director Kathryn Bigelow was attached to the product at some point soon after, before DiCaprio expressed interest in it in 2010.
Whilst the original plan was the adapt the book into a movie, the director and actor will work together once again to make it a TV series.
DiCaprio has appeared in a number of Scorsese films, including Gangs of New York, The Departed and The Wolf of Wall Street.
The series will appear on Hulu in the US, which is currently not available in the UK. Hulu shows have appeared on UK TV before though, with The Handmaid’s Tale shown on Channel 4.
Whilst it’s not yet known whether DiCaprio will himself star in the series, though it is likely he’ll be involved in some fashion.
