Another eight episodes will arrive in January 2021.

Netflix has renewed its smash hit comedy-drama Sex Education for a third season.

The streaming giant confirmed the news yesterday via their official UK and Ireland Twitter account with a quirky announcement video featuring Moordale High’s headmaster Mr Groff (Alistair Petrie).

It’s expected that this third season will once again consist of eight episodes and will likely arrive in January 2021.

Sex Education follows socially awkward teenager Otis (Asa Butterfield) who uses what’s he learned from living with his sex therapist Mum (Gillian Anderson) to open a free underground advice clinic at school.

Season 2 also focuses on his attempt to lose his virginity to new girlfriend Ola (Patricia Allison), Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood) dealing with her sexual assault on the bus and Adam (Connor Swindells) wrestling with his feelings for Eric (Ncuti Gatwa).

The show has proved a huge hit for Netflix receiving acclaim from fans and critics alike

Its first season was one of Netflix’s most watched shows of 2019 earning a hugely impressive 40 million streams within a month of release.

You can stream both seasons of Sex Education on Netflix now.
