Sky adds new catch-up features to Sky +

Sky has announced that it will be adding features to Sky + to improve its catch-up and streaming services.

Sky + users will soon be able to make use of features such as Auto Play and Catch Up Series Link, making watching box sets even easier.

Auto Play adds a feature which is common on streaming services, where the next episode of a series you're watching automatically plays after the current episode has finished.

Catch Up Series Link allows viewers to set a series link for a programme they're watching on-demand, meaning you won't have to set it during a live broadcast.

As well as these additions, Sky is also adding new accessibility features to Sky +, allowing customers to increase the font size when browsing.

These features are expected to be added before the end of the year, with a Continue Watching tab also being added to the Sky planner, making it easier to pick up where you left off.

Director of TV and content products at Sky, Luke Bradley-Jones, said that Sky + would continue to improve for people who enjoyed streaming content.

“We know our customers love the freedom to easily watch episode after episode of their favourite TV shows, which is why we continue to invest in new features for Sky+. So whether it's binge watching addictively good box sets like Billions and The Blacklist, or catching up on your favourite series, including Ray Donovan or A League Of Their Own, Auto Play and Catch Up Series Link give customers the flexibility to watch their favourite shows the way they want.”

A number of new shows are part of Sky's autumn lineup to go alongside the update, including acclaimed sci-fi drama Westworld, The Young Pope and Divorce, a comedy starring Sarah Jessica Parker.
