Sky Sports announces summer cricket lineup

Sky Sports gets ready for a huge summer of cricket.

Sky Sports has announced its cricket lineup for this summer, with more hours of cricket planned than ever before.

Sky Sports has cricket coverage planned from April through to late September, with a number of international matches taking place.

England will take on South Africa, West Indies and, for the first time ever on home soil, Ireland.

Sky customers will also be able to watch the ICC Champions Trophy, which takes place in England and Wales.

The IIC tournament puts the eight best cricketing nations in the world against each other, with the final taking place at the Oval on Sunday 18th June.

The domestic season will also see coverage on Sky Sports, with Northamptonshire, Middlesex and Warwickshire all having televised matches over the summer.

As well as men's cricket, Sky Sports viewers will be able to follow the women's international and domestic competitions.

The ICC Women's World Cup will see the England team in action, with Sky Sports also broadcasting the Kia Super League for the first time.

Bryan Henderson, Head of Cricket at Sky Sports, claimed that cricket was an integral part of Sky Sports' summer coverage.

“There is so much to look forward to this year with more hours of cricket than ever before on Sky Sports. England will want to return to the top of the Test rankings under new captain Joe Root, the Champions Trophy is up for grabs on home soil, and England's women have the World Cup to play for. It is going to be a long, fascinating summer on Sky Sports.”

As well as cricket, Sky Sports will also feature coverage of the British and Irish Lions tour of New Zealand, the golf Majors and F1 in ultra-HD.
