Sky Sports to air International Champions Cup

Sky Sports has announced that it will air the International Champions Cup over the summer. 


The ICC will play host to champions from all around Europe, including Leicester City, Barcelona, Celtic and Paris Saint-Germain.

Sky Sports will show 17 matches over the three week-tournament, which will take place in venues from around the world. 

As well as games airing live, Sky Sports will show highlights of five matches including Manchester City v Manchester United and Real Madrid v Chelsea. 

Head of Football at Sky Sports, Gary Hughes, said that the addition of the ICC topped up a strong lineup of sport from the channel this summer.

“After an incredible football season that no one will ever forget, it won't be long until Sky Sports viewers can see some of Europe's best teams and players, including Premier League champions Leicester City, back in action.”

The ICC adds to to Sky Sport's packed summer catalogue, with viewers able to enjoy a wide variety of sports.

This includes England test cricket against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, F1 racing in Monaco and Silverstone and England's rugby tour of Australia. 

As well as this, Sky Sports will be airing The Open live for the first time in July.

Sky Sports will also air 126 Premier League games when it returns in August as well as 127 Football League games and over 300 matches from La Liga.
