Sky Sports to show inaugural Netball Quad Series
Sky Sports is due to broadcast the first ever Netball Squad Series live on Sky Sports Mix.
All six matches, featuring England, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa are due to be shown live, with four of the matches appearing on Sky Sports Mix.
The Quad Series is a brand new netball tournament aiming to bring together the best four netballing nations in the world for a competition outside the Commonwealth Games and World Championships.
England will begin the tournament on Saturday the 27th of August, where they'll play New Zealand - who previously beat them in the 2015 World Cup.
Sky Sports has previously broadcast netball, but this is the first time that non-Sky Sports customers will be able to enjoy the action due to Sky Sports Mix.
Sky Sports Mix bring a variety of different sport free for all Sky TV customers. As well as netball, Sky Sports Mix viewers can also enjoy cricket, golf, football, F1 and a range of extreme sports.
In its first month, Sky Sports Mix is due to broadcast a total of 16 different sports to Sky subscribers.
Georgina Faulkner, head of Sky Sports Multi-Sport, said that The Quad Series was an important new addition to the Sky Sports Mix lineup.
“The Quad Series is a great addition to our Sky Sports Mix schedule. It will enable millions more people to experience first class netball and hopefully inspire viewers to go out and play the sport. In partnership with England Netball, this agreement sees Sky continuing to broadcast world class netball and take the sport to more households than ever before on Sky Sports Mix.”
Sky has said that the increased netball coverage is just the start of a new commitment to women's sport.
Sky Sports is due to broadcast live LPGA golf, matches from England's rugby 7's and the 2017 women's cricket World Cup all in the coming 12 months. Sportswomen, a weekly show focusing on women's sport, will also be available to view for subscribers.
