Sky to bundle Netflix in new packages

Sky will partner with the streaming giant in Europe.

Sky has announced a new partnership with Netflix to offer a new Sky TV bundle.

Sky has teamed up with the streaming giant to give Sky TV customers access to Netflix through the Sky Q platform.

The new entertainment pack will combine Sky and Netflix content side-by-side, offering a seamless experience and allowing customers to watch both types of content in UHD where applicable.

Customers will be able to enjoy Netflix exclusive shows such as The Crown, Black Mirror and Stranger Things alongside Sky exclusive content such as Britannia, Billions and Big Little Lies

The combination of Sky and Netflix also means that customers pay one monthly bill rather than a separate Netflix subscription fee.

Existing Netflix customers will have the option of migrating their account to the new Sky TV bundle or sign into their Netflix account via the app to enjoy greater convenience.

Jeremy Darroch, Group Chief Executive of Sky, said that the partnership will give Sky TV customers even greater value.

“The exciting new features coming to Sky Q will enable Sky customers to access even more of the best entertainment delivered over the best product platform.

“By placing Sky and Netflix content side-by-side, along with programmes from the likes of HBO, Showtime, Fox and Disney, we are making the entertainment experience even easier and simpler for our customers. Our recent announcements mean we will extend our leadership in delivering customers the best viewing and user experience in Europe.”

Netflix will also become available on Sky's NOW TV streaming devices for the first time, including the new NOW TV Smart Stick.
