Snowpiercer renewed for season 3

It's not currently know when this will premiere.

Dystopian thriller Snowpiercer has been renewed for a third season.

This announcement comes a little under a week before season 2 is due to premiere on 26th January, which is just a day after its release in the US.

Based on Academy-Award winner Bong Joon-Ho’s 2013 film of the same name, Snowpiercer is set in alternate 2021 where the remaining population live on a huge, perpetually moving train after a catastrophic ice age.

Hamilton’s Daveed Diggs stars as a former detective and a member of the train’s lower class who’s recruited by its mysterious overseer (Jennifer Connolly) to help solve a series of murders while also secretly planning a revolution.

Mickey Summer, Alison Wright, Lena Hall, Iddo Goldberg, Susan Park, Annalise Basso. Katie McGuinness and Rowan Blanchard also star.

Sean Bean is set to join the cast for this upcoming second season as the train’s billionaire inventor Mr Wilford, who was revealed to be alive and in control on supply train Big Alice in a last season twist.

Although its production was shut down back in March 2020, much of its filming was already completed meaning that there wasn’t too much of a delay.

You can stream the entire first season of Snowpiercer on Netflix now.
