Star Trek: Discovery renewed for season 3

The U.S.S. Discovery will be back for more in 2020.

Season 3 of Star Trek: Discovery has been confirmed by CBS.

The third season of the sci-fi series will go ahead with a new co-showrunner: Michelle Paradise.

Paradise will work on the show alongside Alex Kurtzman, with stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones and Anson Mount also returning.

Star Trek: Discovery is the a prequel series, set before the original Star Trek, and follows the U.S.S. Discovery as it begins to explore the universe.

The series is one of CBS All Access’ biggest shows, providing a compelling reason to subscribe to the service for US fans.

The show is broadcast on Netflix in the UK, where CBS All Access is not available.

The streaming service is upping its amount of original content in 2019, with Jordan Peele’s Twilight Zone reboot recently dropping a trailer.

British fans will be hoping that makes its way to UK Netflix as well.

You can watch the first 2 seasons of Star Trek: Discovery on Netflix now.
