Stranger Things creators working on season 3

The brothers are already hard at work on the next chapter.

The creators of Stranger Things have said that they are already working on the third season.

Matt and Ross Duffer, who write the throwback King-esque horror series confirmed that they have begun work on the scripts for planned 3rd season.

The reveal comes just days after the release of the 2nd season of the show, which has received critical acclaim despite being out just 5 days.

In an interview with the brothers, they said that they were working out how to make season 3 stand out from the previous outings.

“The hardest thing with this story is that we were tracking these multiple storylines and having them sort of build about at the same pace as to crescendo at the same time. It's always the hardest part as we move into writing.

“Like we're starting on season 3 now, it's always the most difficult thing just to get those to build simultaneously. It's always a challenge, and so we're still learning. I mean, we're trying to do this eight-hour, nine-hour movie so to get that pacing just right, you know, it's always hard.”

The popularity of Stranger Things made a 3rd season inevitable, especially considering Netflix generally renews even its underperforming series.

A report earlier this year claimed that the streaming service wanted a 3rd and 4th season filmed back-to-back, but the Duffer brothers rejected this in favour of more structured seasons.

The length of writing and filming each season has also been taken into account, with the brothers working on the second season before the first had even been debuted.

Whatever the future holds for Stranger Things, the immense response to the show ensures that it will be around for some years to come, especially in the wake of the recent cancellation of other Netflix big hitter House of Cards.
