Stranger Things to get third season
Stranger Things will continue past the upcoming second season.
Netflix series Stranger Things has been confirmed to get a third season, ahead of the airing of the second.
Co-creators of the show Ross and Matt Duffer claimed in an interview that a third season has already been commissioned by Netflix, with the writers aiming for the show to span 4 seasons overall.
The Duffer brothers added that the third season would perhaps take the action outside the fictional US town of Hawkins, Indiana and into the wider world.
“We just have to keep adjusting the story,” Matt said. “Though I don't know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.”
Despite the creators' plans, the a fourth season has yet to be confirmed by Netflix, though it's easy to assume it will be in the near future.
Stranger Things is 80s-style supernatural horror series which sees a group of friends in small-town Indiana take on strange goings-on after thier friend mysteriously disappears.
The series has received widespread acclaim for its performances, stylish look and unique premise.
The much-anticipated second season will hit Netflix on October 27th - just in time for Halloween.
The Duffers have claimed that this season would feel more like a movie sequel than a TV series, with the first season leaving the telepathic Eleven trapped in the horrifying Upside Down.
