The Crown and Taboo lead BAFTA nominations
Last year's biggest British dramas have gotten nods.
The Crown and Taboo have come on top in this year's BAFTA nominations.
The nominations for this year's awards were announced on Thursday, with the Netflix and BBC shows getting the most nods.
The Crown has earned seven nominations, including writing, editing and costume design - despite recent criticism about the parity between Claire Foy and Matt Smith's pay.
BBC One's Taboo also picked up six nominations, including original music, photography and makeup & hair design.
The BBC's other big period drama Peaky Blinders also saw five nominations, alongside its prestige nature documentary Blue Planet II.
Charlie Brooker's Netflix series Black Mirror also received five nominations, including a writing nod for Brooker for the ‘Hang the DJ' episode.
Game of Thrones also made its mandatory appearance in the nominations for both costume and production design.
2018 looks to be another exciting year for British television, with a new series of Taboo planned and Luther set to make his return later in the year.
Summer will also see Jodie Whittaker make her debut as Doctor Who for the show's 11th series since it was rebooted in 2005.
The producers of The Crown are reportedly still looking for an actor to fill Matt Smith's shoes as an older Prince Philip, with Olivia Colman already set to play the Queen.
You can catch The Crown, Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror on Netflix right now.
