The Mandalorian renewed for season 2
UK Star Wars fans can stream the first season from 31st March 2020.
Disney has renewed its original Star Wars series The Mandalorian for a second season.
Its creator and showrunner Jon Favreau officially announced the news on Twitter, revealing that it’ll premiere on streaming platform Disney+ sometime in “Fall 2020”
His post also featured a picture of a Gamorrea, which are large pig-like lizard creatures seen guarding Jabba the Hut in previous Star Wars films.
While nothing’s been confirmed, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating that the picture means a journey to their native planet or even to Jabba’s palace in season 2.
The Mandalorian season 2 will again consist of eight episodes which Favreau is to write.
Set after the fall of the Empire but before the emergence of the First Order, the series stars Pedro Pascal as lone bounty hunter operating on the outer reaches of the galaxy.
The show’s been met with critical acclaim across the board and fans have been particularly obsessed with The Child aka Baby Yoda, an adorable toddler version of the Jedi Master.
Directors for the first season included Taika Waititi, actress Bryce Dallas Howard and Dope’s Rick Famuyiwa but it’s not yet known whether any of them will return.
Disney+ is due to launch in the UK on 31st March 2020.
