The Simpsons seasons 31 and 32 confirmed

Homer and co. are coming back for 2 more seasons.

The Simpsons has been renewed for its 31st and 32nd seasons.

Fox confirmed that the legendary animated series would return for at least the next 2 seasons, though it is very likely it will continue beyond that.

Season 30 of the show is currently airing, with new episodes being shown in the UK exclusively on Sky One.

Despite many fans decrying the quality of the show in later seasons, The Simpsons continues to be a ratings juggernaut, pulling in big figures for Fox.

Many had speculated that the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Disney could spell the end for the famous animated family, though if anything it makes more Simpsons content even more probable.

This renewal is likely to get the series beyond the 700 episode mark, with each season of The Simpsons running for 22 episodes.

The Simpsons is the longest-running animated series of all time, continuing to surpass all its competitors.

The closest to the crown is South Park, which is still running after 22 seasons, though it has some way to go in order to beat The Simpsons.
