The Simpsons won't feature on Disney+ UK

Fans will have to continue watching the show on Sky One.

The Simpsons won’t be available to stream on Disney+ in the UK when it launches next month.

The long-running animated sitcom will remain at its current home of Sky One for “the foreseeable future” the channel’s Managing Director of Content Zai Bennett has confirmed.

The Simpsons is on Sky – absolutely,” he told Radio 5 Live’s Scott Bryan on Monday.

Bennett went onto discuss how Disney+’s arrival wouldn’t have too much of an impact on Sky’s existing library of content, saying that for the next year or so “customers will not notice any difference to what they’ve got.”

Disney+ is due to launch here in the UK on 24th March and will be priced at either £5.99 a month or a one-off payment of £59.99 for the entire year.

Its vast catalogue will include a huge selection of its new and classic films along with all of the entries in the Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel franchises.

Acclaimed spinoff The Mandalorian will be available at launch and viewers also have Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, an Obi-Wan Kenobi series and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series to look forward too.

Currently in its 31st season, The Simpsons is currently the longest-running animated US sitcom ever with 675 episodes under its belt.
