Titans confirms major new character for season 3

Barbara Gordon is set to appear as either Batgirl or Oracle.

Popular comic book character Barbara Gordon will be featured in the upcoming third season of DC Universe’s Titans, it has been announced.

Following rumours that a new character would appear in the season 3 premiere, cinematographers Boris Mojsovski and Brendan Steacy confirmed the news in a recent Facebook livestream.

In the world of DC comics, Barbara Gordon has adopted two superhero identities as the first incarnation of Batgirl and later Batman’s wheelchair-bound technology expert Oracle after she’s paralysed by the Joker.

It’s not yet clear which one the Titans Barbara Gordon will be or which actress will play her.

Mojsovski and Steacy also revealed that some of this season’s action will again take place in Gotham City and described it as feeling like a mix between the first and second.

"The season should have, in a good way, many resemblances of the first season and some cool emotional stuff from the second season."

Nothing’s been confirmed but the ending of the previous series seems to suggest that Blackfire (Damaris Lewis), sister of Teen Titan Starfire (Anna Diop), will serve as this season’s Big Bad after she was seen arriving on earth and possessing someone else’s body.

Actress Conor Leslie also teased a possible return for Donna Troy/Wonder Girl saying that there’s important storylines her character has yet to explore.

A live-action version of Batgirl previously appeared in Joel Schumacher notoriously terrible Batman and Robin played by Clueless star Alicia Silverstone.

You can stream the first two seasons of Titans on Netflix now.
