Twin Peaks revival breaks streaming records

The new series has been a hit with streaming audiences.

The new season of Twin Peaks has broken streaming records, Showtime has revealed.

The US network, which airs the show on its TV channel and streaming service, has claimed that the new season has become its most watched show ever after just four episodes.

Whilst just 620,000 people watch the return of the show on TV, Showtime reported that over a million tuned in via its subscription service.

Showtimes' CEO said that Twin Peaks was one of the channel's most watched shows in its history.

"In the world that we live in now, offering original programming that attracts new subscribers is our primary business objective.

"By that standard, the Twin Peaks premiere is the biggest single-night driver we've ever had."

The first 4 episodes of Twin Peaks have been made available on streaming services, with the rest of the season airing regularly week-by-week.

The new season of Twin Peaks picks up after the series initially ended 26 years ago, with the story continuing with the majority of the original cast.

The revival has been critically acclaimed, with fans praising the return of David Lynch's mix of cerebral surrealism and dark subject matter.

You can watch all of Twin Peaks, along with the new episodes, on Sky Box Sets and NOW TV right now. New episodes will air every Monday on Sky Atlantic.
