Umbrella Academy to get second season

The comic-book series is set for a return next year.

Umbrella Academy has been renewed for a second season by Netflix.

The series, which is based on the comic book of the same name, revolves around a family of superheroes who attempt to solve the mystery of their father’s death.

The original comic series was written by Gerard Way, the lead singer of the band My Chemical Romance.

The series has been a big hit for Netflix, making a second season announcement a question of when, not if.

Fans have been unable to speculate where the series will go next, with season 1 covering the majority of plot points from the comic series, which is no longer running.

This means that the second season will be dipping into uncharted territory, with showrunner Steve Blackman having to find an original way forward.

It’s been confirmed that season 2 of The Umbrella Academy will have a five month filming period, which is shorter than that of season 1.

Despite the relatively short filming time, the series will require a hefty amount of post-production, meaning it probably won’t drop until 2020.

You can catch the full first season right now on Netflix.
