WandaVision gets premiere date at Disney+
Although it was rumoured for December 2020, Disney+ has confirmed that WandaVision will be available to stream from 15th January 2021.
Disney+ has officially set a release date for WandaVision.
The surreal-looking Marvel series will arrive on the streaming service on 15th January 2021. It’s not yet clear if all six episodes will arrive on this date or if the rest will follow weekly.
WandaVision sees the titular Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and the android Vision (Paul Bettany) living a normal suburban life in a world inspired by classic US sitcoms.
Given the latter’s death in Avengers: Infinity War however, it seems that this universe isn’t actually real and Wanda created it using her mind-bending powers.
Also set to reprise their MCU roles is Thor’s Kat Dennings as former intern Darcy, Randall Park as S.H.I.E.L.D agent Jimmy Woo from Ant Man and The Wasp and Teyonah Paris as the adult version of Captain Marvel’s Monica Rambeau.
Evan Peters and Kathryn Hann have also joined the cast in mystery roles. There’s plenty of speculation as to who they could be playing with Wanda’s superpowered twin brother Quicksilver and evil witch Agatha Harkness at the top of the list.
All six episodes were directed by Matt Shakman with Jac Schaeffer serving as head writer.
The series was original slated to be the second Marvel series to premiere on Disney+ after The Falcon and The Winter Soldier but that has now been delayed due to COVID-19.
You can stream WandaVision from 15th January 2021 on Disney+.
