Wonder Girl TV series in development

This Wonder Girl will be different to the one featured in teen superhero drama Titans played by Conor Leslie.

A TV series centred around the DC superhero Wonder Girl is in development.

The Wonder Girl moniker has been adopted by a few different characters but this series will follow the Brazilian Yara Flor created by comic book writer and artist Joëlle Jones.

Flor is the child of an Amazonian Warrior and a Brazilian who, according to the official plot synopsis, must use her powers to “fight the evil forces that would seek to destroy the world.”

The search for an actress to play Wonder Girl is currently underway.

Dailyn Rodriguez, who also currently serves as co-showrunner on drug drama Queen of the South, will write the series.

Greg Berlanti will produce under his Berlanti Productions company along with Sarah Schechter and David Madden.

It’s been confirmed that the show will take place in DC’s Arrowverse meaning it’ll exist in the same world as Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning and Batwoman.

A release date for Wonder Girl is not yet known.
