Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead gets release date on Netflix

This will be his first foray into the zombie genre since the hit remake of Dawn of the Dead in 2004.

Zack Snyder has confirmed the release date for Army of the Dead.

The director took to Twitter to announce that his new film will be available to stream on Netflix from 21st May.

Starring Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista, Army of the Dead follows a group of mercenaries who decide to carry out a daring heist during a zombie pandemic in Las Vegas.

Power’s Omari Hardwick, Garret Dillahunt, Westworld’s Hiroyuki Sanada, Nora Arnezeder, Samantha Win, Raúl Castillo, Matthias Schweighöfer and Rich Cetrone round out the rest of the main cast.

The film was co-written by Snyder, John Wick 3’s Shay Hatten and Joby Harold. A teaser clip giving fans their first look at the film will be released on Thursday 25th February.

Army of the Dead is not the only Snyder film that’s due for release in the next few months.

His highly-anticipated recut of the Justice League, which was originally finished by Joss Whedon after Snyder exited the project due to a family tragedy, will be released on 18th March.

You can stream Army of the Dead from 21st May on Netflix.
