Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist renewed for season 2
The computer programmer (Jane Levy) with the unusual gift will sing another day.
Hit musical comedy Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist has been renewed for a second season.
The show didn’t pull a huge amount of ratings when it aired live but, as is fairly common nowadays, it proved very successful in delayed and digital watching.
According to Geektown, its initial live run pulled in 3.1 million viewers but this increases to 7.9 million when you factor in those delayed and digital viewers.
Skyler Austin, Glee’s Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, Peter Gallagher and Mary Steenburgen also star.
Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist follows the titular computer programmer (Jane Levy) who suddenly becomes able to hear other people’s innermost thoughts and desires through song.
While at first she thinks it’s a curse, she soon begins to use her new gift to try and better the lives of those around her.
“We were overwhelmed by the number of people who fell in love with Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and how much joy it brought to everyone,” said Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, NBC’s Co-Presidents of Scripted Programming.
“We’re thrilled to bring it back and can’t wait to see how Zoey’s journey continues.”
You can stream the entire first season of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist on All4 now.
