First trailer for Netflix's The Woman in the House
The eight-episode show will serve as a spoof of intense psychological thrillers like Gone Girl.
Netflix has released the first trailer for its upcoming limited series The Woman in the House.
With the full title of The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, it's described as a “darkly comedic, wine-soaked, satirical slant on the psychological thriller.”
It's a parody of films like David Fincher’s Gone Girl and its many imitators including The Girl on the Train and Netflix’s recent dud The Woman in the Window.
The Good Place’s Kristen Bell stars as Anna “a heartbroken woman for whom every day is the same” according to the official synopsis from the streaming giant.
“She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her. But when a handsome neighbor (Tom Riley) and his adorable daughter (Samsara Yett) move in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel.”
“That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder… or did she?”
Michael Early, Mary Holland, Shelley Hennig, Cameron Britton, Christina Anthony and Benjamin Levy Aguilar also star.
The Woman in the House was created by Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson and Larry Dorf who also all serve as co-showrunners.
You can stream The Woman in the House from 28th January 2022 on Netflix.
