Sky Movie Channels

Sky Movie Channels are themed so that if you fancy watching a comedy or an action-packed blockbuster, you know where to look.  The themed channels include Sky Comedy, Sky Action & Adveture, Sky Family, Sky Sci-Fi and Horror and Sky Classics.

There are over 450 movies every week, as well as brand new movies airing on Sky for the first time with Sky Premiere.  You can also enjoy themed movie seasons on Sky Movies Showcase, whilst children’s favourite Disney Cinemagic is available as a bonus channel.

With the Sky Movies Pack, you get the latest and greatest movies and an impressive choice, and when you can’t decide which film to watch you can use Sky+ to record one and watch the other, or record both.  Plus you can watch the films with stunning high definition picture and sound when you order the HD Pack, which gives you access to all the HD channels on Sky.

Sky Movies Premiere

Sky Movies Premiere is Sky’s flagship movie channel, showing brand new movies every single week.  These releases have only been available previously by either pay-per-view or DVD and Blu-ray, and they include Hollywood blockbusters, Oscar-winners and independent films that have received acclaim.

Sky Movies Premiere comes with the other Sky Movies channels in a pack, and with Sky Movies Premiere+1 you can catch the film a bit later.

Sky Store

Sky Store is a rental service available through your Sky set-top box.  It lets you order movies at the touch of a button and gives you a fixed rental period, during which you can watch as often as you like.

The range of content available includes brand new movies released on DVD and Blu-Ray the same day.  Your payment is charged on your next monthly bill, and there’s no limit to the number of movies you can rent.

Movies On Demand

Sky Store is not the only way to get films on demand with Sky.  You can download from Sky’s library of films using a Sky Broadband connection.  This means you don’t have to wait for a film to be showing, you can just pick it from the list and get it sent to your set-top box via the web, ready for viewing whenever you choose.

You don’t even have to wait for the download to finish, you can usually start viewing a few seconds after beginning the download.

You can also use Sky Go, which is Sky’s online and on demand service.  Anything available with your own Sky package can also be watched on your laptop, PC, Mac or mobile.  You simply sign in to Sky Go, and you can choose whether to watch live channels or pick from the on demand content.

How much is Sky Movies?

The Sky Movies Pack, which includes all 11 themed Sky Movies channels, as well as Disney Cinemagic, on demand movies and Sky Movies with Sky Go, costs £16 per month for Sky customers with any basic Sky TV package.

To get the high definition broadcast of each Sky Movies channel you just have to add the premium HD Pack to your Sky Entertainment Extra+ package, which costs an extra £5.25 per month.
