Hitch

A personal favourite, Hitch stars Will Smith as a suave love doctor who helps people in New York find love. While he works on helping one client, he becomes embroiled in his own love story, with the two intertwining to harm the relationships that are forming.

This romcom plays on both aspects brilliantly, with the chemistry all around working brilliantly. Eva Mendes, Smith’s love interest, is the perfect match to counteract Hitch and as such, the attachment that forms is endearing.

A great option for a light-hearted yet still loving watch.

The Proposal

Sandra Bullock plays a high-powered editor facing deportation who forces her assistant (Ryan Reynolds) into a fake engagement.

This hilarious rom-com offers a unique perspective on love, showing how unexpected connections can blossom from the most unlikely situations. The film's fast pace and witty dialogue keep things engaging, making it a fun and lighthearted choice for Valentine's Day.

Marriage Story

Going with a hard-hitter here but a must-watch, Marriage Story stars Scarlett Johansen and Adam Driver as a husband and wife going through a gruelling divorce.

The story feels raw and genuine, as if you were watching real-life events. It can be a hard watch because of this, displaying the difficulties of love, but it also shows the value of communication and understanding.

Before they were together (and long before the split), Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie shared incredible chemistry on-screen in this action comedy, where a bored married couple is thrown into a world of espionage as they discover they're both assassins working for opposing agencies.

The film's blend of action, humour, and rekindled passion makes it an unconventional yet thrilling Valentine's Day pick.

As well as the original film from 2005, you can watch the new series that’s just been released this year starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine.

The story is slightly different - they’re not a married couple when put together - but the show has still received strong reviews from viewers. You can watch all eight episodes on Prime Video now.

Lady and the Tramp

One of Disney’s original animated classics, Lady and the Tramp is a movie for all ages. With adorable animal characters, charming songs, and a spaghetti-sharing scene that melts hearts, it's a sweet and nostalgic choice for a family-friendly Valentine's Day.

Titanic

A silver screen icon, Titanic needs no introduction. The ill-fated story of the infamous ocean liner but more importantly that of star-crossed lovers Rose (Kate Winslet) and Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) who defy social barriers and find love amidst tragedy.

The film's grand scale, powerful love story, and iconic soundtrack make it a classic choice for those who appreciate a touch of drama and historical fiction.

P.S. I Love You
