And Just Like That renewed for season 2
Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte will be back.
US-only streaming service HBO Max has renewed And Just Like That for a second season.
News of the Sex and The City sequel's return was confirmed by its creator Michael Patrick King who said in a statement:
“I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters - played by these powerful, amazing actors. The fact is, we’re all thrilled. And Just Like That… our Sex life is back.”
This renewal comes more than a month after the first season concluded at the beginning of February but doesn’t come as too much of a surprise.
Although reviews from both critics and fans have been mixed, the show has proved a huge hit for its broadcaster becoming its most successful original series to date.
Set 11 years after the events of Sex and The City 2, And Just Like That follows three of the original core four Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristen Davis) as they navigate life in their fifties.
Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Sara Ramirez, Evan Handler, Sarita Choudhury and Nicole Ari Parker also starred and it’s expected that all of them will also return for season 2.
Although Samantha (Kim Cattrall) did not appear in this reboot, the character still had a presence of sorts through several text messages she sent to Carrie. It's not currently known if this will continue in the new season.
The entire first season of And Just Like That is available to stream on Sky and with the NOW Entertainment Membership.
