New Sky Atlantic series

Possession

Coming 6th August 2026

Supernatural thriller starring Jonny Lee Miller (Trainspotting) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Black Mirror), about a young hotshot lawyer whose roots come back to haunt her - literally - when she travels to Jamaica to contest an inheritance.

Promising supernatural chills alongside some thought–provoking explorations of race, ancestry and generational trauma, this looks like it’ll be an interesting watch.

The Good Daughter

Coming Autumn 2026

Based on the novel by Karin Slaughter, this follows a lawyer whose involvement in a violent case dredges up painful memories and buried secrets. It’s your classic crime thriller setup, full of small town intrigue, given a starry cast and a decent budget. Should be worth a watch.

Stars Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I'd Kick You), Meghann Fahy (Drop) and Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin).

Crystal Lake

Coming Autumn 2026

Prequel series to the long-running Friday the 13th franchise, following Jason’s mum Pamela Voorhees as she navigates life - and neglectful counsellors - at the infamous summer camp. Sounds a bit random but let’s not forget that Mrs Voorhees (not Jason) was the killer in the original movie, avenging the death of her son, so there’s a lot of fertile ground to mine here.

Plus it has some interesting talent involved, not least writer Bryan Fuller (responsible for the excellent Hannibal series) and Linda Cardellini (Freaks & Geeks) as Pamela Voorhees. Could be a spooky, bloody treat just in time for Halloween.

Superfakes

Coming in 2027

This upcoming crime drama series has some pretty impressive pedigree behind it. Executive produced by Josh and Benny Safdie, the guys behind notoriously stressful crime thriller Uncut Gems and - separately - recent hits The Smashing Machine and Marty Supreme, and starring Lucy Liu (Kill Bill), there’s already some buzz building around the show.

Reportedly, this will follow a working class mother (Liu), making a living selling counterfeit goods on the streets of Chinatown, who gets dragged deeper and deeper into the criminal underworld. Sort of like a gender swapped Breaking Bad, maybe?

Returning Sky Atlantic series

Sweetpea - Season 2

Coming in 2026

The darkly comedic thriller has been confirmed to be returning for a second season, due later this year. Ella Purnell (Fallout) returns as Rhiannon, an unassuming young woman who develops a penchant for murder.

This time she’ll be juggling her dark proclivities with a new promotion, a new relationship and another killer intent on unmasking her.

Heated Rivalry - Season 2

Coming in 2027

It was inevitable that Sky’s mega-popular romance series would get a second season, and lo and behold it’s now due to hit our screens sometime in 2027. Adapting the sixth novel in Rachel Reid’s bestselling Game Changers series, The Long Game, this will see tensions arise between the secret lovers as Ilya wants to take the relationship public.

Will the second season prove to be as universally beloved as the first? Only time will tell…

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - Season 2

Coming in 2027

The Game of Thrones spin-off proved to be a huge success on release, garnering critical and fan acclaim for its more grounded, comedic take on a Westeros adventure - something of a tonic after a slightly disappointing second outing for House of the Dragon.

There’s precious little political manoeuvring here, and no dragons to speak of, the show instead focussing on the down-to-earth adventures of the hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg. The buddy dynamic is a winner, and it’s nice to have a fantasy show that still has stakes without being all doom and gloom.

Bring on season 2!

Is Sky Atlantic free?

Sky Atlantic isn’t a free-to-watch channel, but it is included with any Sky Essential or Ultimate TV package at no extra cost. That means you should be able to access Sky Atlantic no matter which Sky service you opt for.

How to get Sky Atlantic without Sky TV

As above, Sky Atlantic is included with all Sky Essential and Ultimate TV packages as standard. But what if you’re not a Sky customer?

Those who don’t fancy signing up to Sky can access Sky Atlantic with a NOW TV Entertainment Pass. Starting from just £6.99 per month (or £9.99 for a monthly rolling contract), you’ll have access to all of Sky Atlantic’s hits, as well as hundreds of other brilliant box sets to stream on demand.

Can you get Sky Atlantic on Virgin?

Unfortunately, Sky Atlantic is not currently available on Virgin. You can get access to most other Sky channels with Virgin entertainment packages, including Sky Showcase, Sky Witness and Sky Max - as well as Sports and Cinema channels - but not Sky Atlantic.

For the moment, at least, Sky seems to prefer to keep its flagship channel exclusive to Sky and NOW.
